Divorce
I just got divorced this past July after a 20 year marriage. He was emotionally unavailable, very distant and neglectful, and highly critical. We have two kids together, ages 12 and 16. Thankfully we were amicable during the process and coparent well. He started talking to a woman from his work in March and now he's dating her. I am devastated because I think they were talking long before that. My depression has gotten worse since the divorce. I'm so lonely and have tried to date but nothing has panned out. He primarily has the kids due to my depression and trouble managing too much stress. I miss the kids but I do see them two nights a week. I tried posting this in a religious forum and got chastised from someone saying we are still married in the eyes of the Church. So I'm nervous for putting myself out there but I need the support. Thanks for listening.

It is hard when we leave a long-term relationship. It is lonely sometimes when we were with someone even if they were not really present. this other person is not a reflection on you...
you of all people know she may be getting the fun and present person someone you probably saw before he became the neglectful and critical person he was at end. work on you and deciding who you want to be in this new start... the sooner you find your peace you can see kids more and enjoy life do not worry about dating you have plenty of time and when you are ready a person will show up in your life. ... this type of situation when I felt lost and not knowing what to do... in prayer I say I am ready to move on to the next chapter.
This has worked for me moved from a toxic job to a new one that taught me more about what I could do and helped me feel stronger... asked for a listening ear found a person that just showed up...
