Fearful Avoidant WLW
I am a lesbian and was just broken up with yesterday because she has a fearful avoidant attachment style and I called her out for breadcrumbing me. She is in therapy so I guess that’s good. The first time she brought up not being ready for an exclusive relationship was about a month ago. She said therapy made her realize she’s not ready but she still wants to get to know me. I cautiously agreed thinking she would respect my boundary of moving slow because it was a lot for me to think about in the moment. I tried distancing myself and it was like she was scared I was gone because she kept initiating conversations. That was for about a week. She still initiated up until yesterday but it was very hot/cold. So I finally called her out and she told me again that shes not in a place for a romantic connection and that she didn’t want to keep me in a situation that won’t go anywhere. This is my first experience with a fearful avoidant woman so I’m just confused and heartbroken. I love her more than anything and hope she does the work she needs to do to heal. I have the door open for her but only if she makes an effort to heal in therapy. Just looking for some support or anyone that has been through something similar.

I'm sorry you experienced this.
I admire you so much for wanting her to heal and grow.
It shows you are a good person, kind.
But you deserve more than breadcrumbs, you deserve someone who sees you and gives you back the same energy.
You deserve to heal and be happy 💖
