Feeling confused

Me and my partner had been living together for 3 years back in January my partner went back to look after her mum while she was recovering from surgery my partner being heavily pregnant at this point.

5weeks ago she gave birth to our daughter however she is still living back with her mum even though her mum is fully recovered and during these 5 weeks I have only seen my daughter 3 times once at the hospital the day after she was born ( I wasn't even told when she was born until that night ) and twice recently. I've tried asking why I'm being kept away but all she tells me is "it has to be this way for now" I'm worried she's hiding something from me but won't give me any sign as to what. She tells me I've done nothing wrong and that she does love me and we are still together but all the while keeping me out of her life and our daughters life...

It’s understandable to feel confused and hurt 🫂

It sounds really painful to be kept at a distance from your partner and your newborn daughter, especially without clear answers. Anyone in your situation would feel unsure and worried about what’s going on.

What you’re feeling makes sense. When communication is unclear, the mind naturally starts searching for reasons, which can increase anxiety and doubt. At the same time, your partner may be going through something she hasn’t been able to share yet, especially after childbirth and everything around it.

One small step that may help is to gently express how you feel—letting her know you miss them and want to be involved, while also being open to understanding her space. Keeping the focus on communication rather than fear may help create a safer space for her to open up.

This is a lot to carry, and it’s completely natural to feel this way. You don’t have to figure everything out right now.

I hope things become clearer for you, one step at a time 💕
