Feeling unsafe entering relationships without family or friends as support

I live in a big city without any family or friends close enough to save me if I am in danger, which is why I am scared of dating or being in a relationship with someone there. This became very clear to me when I went on a date yesterday with a guy who's an adrenaline-junkie and experienced what felt a hundred near death experiences. Imagine if I wear to disappear that day, no one would have known what happened. Or if I got abused, there would be no place close I could flee to.
