Getting flashes from my trauma
It’s been two and half years since the incident happened but it still carries the same weight in my heart. I feel bad about myself for trusting him if I knew his intentions back then I would’ve never chose that. The regret is eating me alive. All I ever wanted was someone who I could trust and open up to. Somebody who is truly on my side. But that never happened.
I get you. Loyalty in relationships is hardly seen now a days. It's better to love yourself, and not to worry about a thing. Show off, and don't get tied down. Don't blame yourself. You are too precious.

It is very hard to let go of our blaming ourselves for opening up or trusting someone who was not worthy of that trust. many people this does not become clear until we let them in. Forgive yourself we all have found someone who had bad motives.
We can realize that a mistake was made and while being careful we can still make an error again. knowing it is a possibility going in .......keeps us on our toes to minimize damage
Trust is fragile and stuff happens.......but self blame or self punishment only hurts us.... does not solve anything, does not make the person who betrayed our trust examine their behavior etc.
