Hate Dad having a fit about sugar
Background:
Dad's has always been Health nut. This has caused some problems with us.
Scenario 1:
Back in 2022 I brought ice tea for me to drink because I was a bit tired of of just having the sparking water as my lunch drink (back before I had sparking water for my year round drinks). I asked Dad to open it. Instead of opening it, he took a very long time looking at the nutrional label and I was hangry and I asked Dad to hurry up and just open it. He didn't open it and instead threw the bottle across the couch and told me to "Act like an adult". I had to open it on my own-and the entire reason why I asked him was because I had already tried to open it on my own and it didn't work the first time for me.
Scenario 2:
Before Covid, Dad would buy ice cream bars. I could have one for my snack. But one measly bar+ pop isn't really enough of snack when I could have pudding + Pop and ice cream with choc sauce, choc chips (or choc pieces of whatever I have in my snack piles) and sprinkles + pop. My mom and I made a deal, I can have that (ice cream bar) + a small bowl of ice cream+ pop. One night Dad confronted me and said I can "have one or the other not both". something about "too many calories". Which I thought was unfair because I don't see ice cream bar+ pop as being enough to fill me up since I don't get to have a lot of treats outside of holidays, post birthdays, when I buy myself l Mcflurry, Blizzard's, or a milkshake at a fast food place or Mom and I have been in Toronto and get Timbits. or Ice cream in Bard's town, my province. Otherwise my snack night is once a week on Fridays.

So sometimes I have bathroom problems and in order for me to relax I use candy (life savers or humbugs).
Story:
I needed to go to the bathroom and before I went in I asked mom if the store has them in (Bard's town), that if we could get 2 bags assorted Humbugs for me to use for the upstairs and downstairs bathroom. As I was going into the bathroom - I then heard her answer Dad's question, and its was something about "she uses it to relax in the bathroom". Turns out the question Dad asked "Why is she chewing on something full of sugar?" Mom had to tell him off and say I doesn't use it that much.

@Disneywoman
That can be annoying. Hopefully your dad understood that his assumption was incorrect. Take care.
@trueconfidant123 Yeah humbug is full of sugar but I barley use it.. I only chew on them when I need to relax my body if I'm having a bad number 2
@Disneywoman
I hear you. While your dad's comment might have come from a place of concern, I'm glad your mom stepped in and gave him a clarification on your behalf.
@trueconfidant123 He's health nut. He had a cow abut the ice tea bottle, I just wanted him to open the bottle because I was going to have lunch and instead of opening it he had to stare at the bottle and then threw it.
He forced me to choose between an ice cream bar and ice cream sunade- and as I said inthe OP a ice cream + pop = not filling vs ICe cream sundae.
He also had cows back in the day I would get two meals from fast food and Mom had to tell him "I save the other mean to eat later in the week". Something like Wendy's could end up being three meals. if i got the baked potato
