Hey everyone, it’s like i said, i wanted to post something here because something has been bothering me for a while now…

You see, what’s bothering me is what happened between me and my girlfriend…it started like 5 days ago i think…she suddenly started texting me a lot less, which made me worry at first and so i asked her how come she wasn’t texting me as much anymore.

She said that she was busy, and so of course i was fine with that at first, but then another few days passed and i did something i should not have done…i got angry and which i regret deeply…then we had a argument and she decided she needed to think over the whole situation, the relationship, and if she wants to break up with me or not.

So now she wants a break, and which i’m fine with and which i will give her for 2 weeks (since that’s my max of no contact with my partner) but at the same time i just feel like i’m not a priority to her and that if she can go a few days without me that she can probably be without me for a long time too…

Do you guys and girls have any advice for me what i should do? I see online that a lot of people are like that i should break up with her because she decided to want a break from me so…while others tell me wait out the break and see if she wants to talk about it then…

@Vincent2026

to break up or not is individual and not something you should decide because someone else thinks you should.   text is not a great form of communication IMO. too many second guess what was said or worse time until the response comes back. IF you really want this communicate with her.

Ask the things you want to know breaks let anger cool, but they do not heal anything.   Talk and find out what she wants and communicate what you want. make sure each person understands what the other person is feeling / saying.  assumptions and guessing what our partner thinks or feels is the death of relationships.

Since you both agreed to a break, the best thing you can do—both for her and for your own self-respect—is to honor it completely. * If you reach out before the two weeks are up, it may come across as a lack of respect for her boundaries, which could push her further away.

Use this time to show her (and yourself) that you are capable of emotional regulation, even when things are difficult.
