How do you find the one?

Hey everyone I’m new here.

I’m 23 years old and I’ve been single for 8 years straight now. I find myself sometimes wondering if I’m ever going to find anyone to be in a relationship with. I’ve talked to a few girls here and there but they never wanted to be more than friends or I realized that they were nowhere near my type. I met this one that I think is perfect but she doesn’t want to do long distance and I can’t just get up and move or anything like that. I’ve found myself wondering if there’s something wrong with me or what I’m doing. I’ve always been the “nice” guy. My friends have told me that I’m “the whole package” but it doesn’t feel like it. I don’t go out to bars or clubs and I really just work or stay at home. Any advice?

I feel like finding anything..... when we are too focused looking ....we miss it.

I also think many things make things harder .. the "one" is a misleading statement. i have know many on a 2nd or more relationships/  marriage etc...... who was their "one "  the 1st spouse or 2nd that lasted longer....etc?

What was missing from your previous girls you spoke with that was Not your " type " ?          I can say from experience that the person whom i have shared most of life with was NOT my original  idea of a "type" or i thought i would be with.    The person we are best suited is not always what we pictured.    getting to know people on the Inside takes longer then just asking out someone we find attractive.  Many of the most attractive people i met often lost looks when they showed me their inside personality / thoughts.

Hi 😊 I wouldn't like it to sound condescending, but you seem to be right at the beginning of the road. Gosh... Being three decades further, I can only envy you the sea of opportunities, the clean slate, the freshness and the hope...

It looks like you've been already doing the right thing: talking to girls, and getting friends with some of them—which is particularly good job if you are not a party person.

Though I believe that "Let's just be friends" is a polite/indirect way to say "Sorry, but I am not yet ready for anything" or "I am not romantically interested in you".

For me it's quite understandable that some people choose to not want to be entangled in any long-distance connections. 'Cause it's good to be together (even if it might be challenging from time to time), and each and every moment matters.

By saying that you felt someone was "not your type", or not a good match for you, you seem to be aware of your needs and expectations.

Just keep going! 😁

Hi. Sometimes when you’re not looking, you can come across someone and just hit it off, you just never know.  You say you don’t go out, so how do you plan on meeting anyone, anytime soon?
