How should boyfriends act in a relationship?
I just had a break up and it made me wonder how a boyfriend should act. I know every guy is different and everyone has their own preferences, but I feel like a boyfriend should at least be a certain way. Before my relationship ended, I (gf) always made the plans, called, asked to hang out, bought him gifts, and just did a lot of things first. My ex just kind of took everything I gave him and didn’t give anything back. He also broke up with me only days before my bday. I don’t know how a boyfriend “should” be, I feel like I won’t ever know because each time I’m the one caring more or putting in the effort for two people.

Love isn’t proven by grand gestures; it’s shown in small things, checking in, showing up, listening, and planning together.
