@intuitiveClementine8108 there's nothing weak in protecting yourself from a person that hurt you. You've got nothing to prove and if blocking him makes you feel better and helps you move on, it's the right thing to do.

I’m trying to be friends with my ex because I feel bad for him, but he sometimes does rude things to me without realizing it, and if I stop being friends him then I’d have no friends. What should I do?

Make new friends. Let him go..... it's easier said than done but it's for your own good. One day you will realise that.
