In love but tired
I've played the caretaker role for my partner for a while now while she has been dealing with mental health struggles. My needs became put so on the backburner I forgot I had them. Things have been getting better on that front, but I still experience this feeling of being so scared to express that I need something from my partner and then when I finally ask my partner never finds the energy to follow through with it. I ask for more help on tasks for the house, and nothing gets done for a week until I write it all down for her. And then half of it got done before she forgot. I ask for more physical touch and she reminds herself to done me with kisses for a day or two and then forgets it. I don't feel done with this relationship in the slightest, but I'm done with this balance but am at a loss at how to move forward.

I would agree with you
When we give and sacrifice and anticipate our partners needs and give completely. When we speak up for our wants or needs only to be met with half heart effort that lasts a day and we feel short changed.
In time it may get under our skin to have to keep bringing it up....... we begin to tire of our needs or mental well being is an after thought. while I encourage communication about this at a certain point we need to weigh our options.
