Is my friend lying to me about her feelings?
So I have had this situationship with a friend for the past 5 years. But recently we have been just friends for a long time and it was working really well.
Recently we had a romantic interaction between us that was very intimate, I won't go into details, but after that she said she wasn't sure does she want to continue this and she needs time to think. She eventually decided we should be friends and that her feelings have faided.
These news felt absurd to me because the morning after that romantic thing happened, she texted me "hello sweet thang😉" and when I asked her about it later she said she wasn't flirting and had no flirty feelings when writing it. I was so confused because she sounded so genuine like she wasn't trying to lie, I read her so well. But still I can't believe her.
Then these days there's sometimes very obvious tension going on and lowkey flirting but I don't say anything anymore. One day it was so obvious but I stayed silent.
What's so ridiculous and amusing to me is that she says she has no feelings but texts me that flirty text and claims it wasn't freaking flirty and then clearly lowkey flirts with me here and there.
I have no intention of becoming more than friends anymore because of how she behaves but honestly do yall think she's being honest or is she actually flirting and just straight up lying? Like who wouldn't see that text as flirty?

I think it sounds flirty and maybe trying to minimize the awkwardness they felt after the intimate interaction. did you faux flirt before this incident?
maybe they are worried this may hurt the relationship you had prior ... while i would not out and out call it lying. Sometimes people flirt and then deny because they want the other person to speak up and show interest first.
@courageousMelon256,
you perceived her as being flirty because that's how you want to perceive it. Whereas it just might be how she communicates with you because she likes you, nothing more.
She let you know she doesn't want to get romantically involved so you have to accept and respect that.
