I think I need to just start moving on. I don't know anymore.
I'm in a relationship with a dismissive-avoidant, and he's not been the best at communication but these days, he's worse. He doesn't like being consistently checked up on, so he'd leave me on read and he didn't tell me that until after I told him I was feeling anxious and asked if there was a problem. He had COVID during the holidays, and although he's recovered it, he is still coughing constantly. Last Christmas, I was checking up on him and even sending him pictures from my trip, but he'd just leave me on read. So, I asked if he was okay and if he was angry and he finally replied but his reply was: I'm just tired of responding. It really hurt me. We don't really text much and I'm usually the first one to reach out. It's been a month since we last saw each other. He's still sick, so we can't see other yet.

I know it sucks to be the person who is always checking in or reaching out to see if others are ok.
while being ill he may not feel up to chatting or texting i will put it off as some friends etc just want to text back and forth and i am not feeling up to it. I have found to just not check in for awhile let them reach out at least part of the time ... if they do not.... that says more about how invested they are in this.
