I want to leave her, but i’m worried.
I’ve been with my girlfriend for a little over a year now. i want to leave her. i’m just genuinely unhappy ever since a certain incident. i really think she cheated on me for a reason that won’t be mentioned. but i just can’t make myself trust her for some reason. but i want to get out of the relationship. but my fear is that she would commit. she’s dealt with a TON of unrelated trauma and i feel that i would be her tipping point.
I don’t even know if i love her anymore, but i still care for her safe. Please please leave thoughts or opinions.
Hello! This is a really tough situation. As an anonymous reader from a single thread I would say this is something you need to talk about in an open and respectful manner. You are just human and as much as you want to end your relationship it doesn't mean you want to intentionally hurt her. Your feelings are valid and should also be a priority.
What do you think would be the best way to still show that you care even if you're not in a relationship anymore? Maybe in that way you'll know she'll be safe and she'll know you're being genuine.
@Kirbyster
Has she said anything that would make you believe she would do something if you left? or this is just something you worry about?
The truth is if you are unsure you can trust her or have had your feelings fade ... staying "in case" will only hurt you and perhaps make it worse between you and her.
She hasn’t tried to hold it against me or anything. but throughout our time of dating she’s mentioned several times that she would more than likely do it if i left her.
@Kirbyster,
she's manipulating you. If she really wants to do it, we'll, that's her choice. You play no part in that neither is it your responsibility.
This is about how you feel. If the relationship is over for you, leave.
I can hear how much you care about her well-being, and it’s clear this situation is weighing heavily on you. Its completely valid to feel stuck when you are worried about her safety but also feeling unhappy in the relationship. If you genuinely concerned that she might harm herself, thats really serious. It could help to talk to a trusted adult, mental health professional or someone close to her who can offer support. You shouldn’t have to carry this alone - Remember your safety and emotional health matters too.

Sorry I don’t know why it spammed the message …
You should leave her then. She will bounce back and get over it. Maybe talk to her about a safety plan or mental health app? Life's to short. Move on.
