Looking for a little guidance to move on
I’m in the space where I know that I made the right decision to move. I heard a quote somewhere on line that said it doesn’t take long for you to realize that the person you’re with is not the one, it only takes a long time for you to accept it. I’m just really struggling through the acceptance phase. I don’t like dating I don’t like starting over. I’ve been on and off with this guy for two years and it’s not going anywhere. I’m just looking for some encouraging words to keep me going because I keep falling into this really sad space and i don’t want to be there. I feel empty. I feel sad. I feel disappointed.

I understand that you're in a difficult place right now, trying to come to terms with your decision to move on. It's natural to feel sad, disappointed, and hesitant about starting over. However, remember that recognizing what's best for you takes courage, and although it may be challenging, embracing change can lead to new opportunities and personal growth. Be kind to yourself during this process, and know that brighter days lie ahead. You have the strength to navigate through this and find the happiness you deserve. Keep moving forward, and things will get better. ❤️
@powerfulSouth2575 It sounds like things were not working for you so you made the best choice for you. That is actually an act of self love. Maybe you need to move on a little bit further - to a place where you love yourself more and don’t need someone else so much to meet those needs. Right now the space that you’re in may be a bit frightening. You say you don’t like dating or starting over. So, don’t date, don’t start over right now. There are a zillion things in life for you besides an intimate relationship and maybe you can explore one or two of them. At some point dating and starting over may be something you come to welcome. There is beauty on the other side of this struggle. You got this!

Honestly IMO this is why divorce is so high people that know deep down not the right person but they are tired of shopping and looking and wonder what if there is anyone better then what they currently have... so they just hold on to this person....
yes dating sucks , yes starting over is not fun and there might be times you are lonely
but in the end holding on to something that is semi comfortable instead of finding the right fit is a mistake ....
It's hard sometimes when you feel stuck in a cycle. Give yourself a little grace and a little credit. Recognize you are meeting yourself where you are and it's a process. I can relate a lot.
Acceptance during relationship grief is not a final point, we ebb and flow through all the stages of it. You'll get there friend.
No matter what, you'll be ok. Trust.

Hello! Personally, I feel like it’s easy to get hanged up on a relationship whether because you feel like you should be dating or you won’t be able to find someone else later. But honestly, if you feel like you do better when you’re not dating, then don’t. You don’t want it to feel like a chore where it slowly drains your energy and just makes your relationship worse in the end with your significant others. And hanging out with friends also help a lot. Good luck, you got this!
