It's been 2 months since a breakup with a coworker and I just don't know what to do with myself anymore. They keep going along like they didn't tear my entire world apart, even requesting to work alongside me or helping with my sidework. I genuinely like this job and I know at least part of me still want them back and want things to go back to how they were. I keep telling myself that it'll get better and that the pain will fade but it just seems to get worse every time I think of them which is near constant. I've tried to distract myself but everything reminds me of them.

@Rainbow0916 this is certainly not easy. Getting over someone in a flick and adjusting to a new equation sounds like an ordeal to me. If you like your job, dont make this the reason to unlike it, even if it seems hard being there. The meaningfulness of your work counts! Id say dont fight against your feelings- it never works - just accept them with grace. There is no shame in having lasting feelings after a breakup. Maybe not the best idea to pin false hopes for a patch up ... in order to decide its chances, you have to be tuned in to the situation realistically ... not see it from a place of wishfulness. I think in time you begin to find new patterns and meanings of your equations which are different from what you felt once ... if you factor in that possibility , there are chances you will detect reasons that will help you to move on.
