Hi everyone..Just want to share my experience and what to know if anyone has similar experience. I have a 26 yr old daughter whose very brave and independent but has strong views and king size ego..She believes she knows everything and I don't know anything..she wants to have everything her way and for that she will give so many excuses to justify her way.when we disagree with her despite her excuses..she gets angry and sometimes verbally abuse me..calling me a lousy mother and finally now she has blocked me a very silly reason..Initially I used to get upset when she does this but I don't feel any reason to feel guilty..she has so amnay insecurities n complexes..we have given her the best childhood, lots of love.and support.I don't know where I failed as a mother..she fought with her father also (but npt blocked him)but she doesn't disrespect him but she disrespects me..It's been over a monthe since qe last communicated with each other..I tried everything possible..if anyone has some suggestions what I can do..

Im sorry you are going through this and I've no doubt you are not a lousy mother 💕💜 Sometimes with our loved ones, we can be quite similar in personality and view the same situation very differently. I would suggest just giving her space, you've done all you can, if the lines of communication are open with your husband, she will be still able to reach out to him. There shouldn't be any disrespect on either side. With abit of distance, I hope tempers simmer and things calm down 💕💜

-Thanks Amanda..I gave given her enough time and space but she's still the same. She can go days without texting or calling us..we have tried this experiment..sometimes I wonder if she ever loves us..she has deep resentment to wards me more now also with her father but she manipulates him in whatever she wants which I don't like at all..

@tia2utoo

I do think she loves you but needs to take accountability for her actions and words and only she can do that 💕💜

Hi there, thank you so much for opening up and sharing something so deeply personal. What you're feeling is completely valid it's heartbreaking to feel shut out by your own child, especially after years of giving them your love, time, and care. First and foremost, you have not failed as a mother. Let that sink in. Parenting isn’t a straight road it's complex, layered, and filled with moments that don’t always make sense. You gave your daughter love, a good upbringing, and your best and that matters, even if she isn’t recognizing it right now. Adult children, especially strong-willed and independent ones, can go through phases where they push boundaries and test relationships in painful ways. Sometimes it’s their way of trying to find control or space not because you were a bad mother, but because they themselves are still figuring things out emotionally. Often, the safest person to lash out at is the one who loves them the most and tragically, that’s often their mom. It’s okay to feel sad, angry, confused all of it. You don’t need to carry guilt or question your worth. Give her space, yes, but also give yourself compassion. Blocking you may be her way of processing whatever she’s feeling but that doesn’t define your relationship forever. Things can shift, even if it takes time. You are not alone. So many loving mothers go through this pain silently. Just remember Her current behavior doesn’t erase the bond you’ve built or the love you gave. Keep that hope alive but also, take care of your own heart too. Sending you strength, grace, and warmth. You're a good mom don’t let anyone, not even your child in a bad moment, make you forget that. 💛

Thank you for your wonderful words of encouragement..yes I know she's going through some deeply emotional time..she's actually moved with her bf(against our will) and us currently jobless..I know she's stressed but I am the only one who go through all her lashing and venting but her father doesn't hear this from her.zI know I did my best but I only fear whether she has deep resentment towards me..that's the only worry I have for her..rest I know she will come out of this and probably realise how rude she was with me..I'm trying to be as patient as hi can be..Thank you once again ❤️

My mom would probably say the same about me.

Either you decide to respect her as her own person and respect even the choices you disagree with. Or you're going to loose her.

You don't get to decide what she does.

Or how often she contacts you.

You're allowed to ask, not to dictate. Not anymore.

Your choice.

Hello dear..I guess your mom must be feeling the same way as I am feeling..I want to clarify that I have always respected my daughters wish..She had the freedom to do anything and as parents we have not stopped her..The problem is even though we have accepted her as she is..she has too much pride or ego to admit she's wrong..As a a mother I have full right to guide her in the right path and after that even if she still refuses to listen..it's her loss..how much can a mother do or say..when you become a mother,you will know the value of being a mother and when you see your child(boy or girl)going on the wrong path,your instincts will fire up to protect her.Thats all what mothers can do nothing much..My daughter has blocked me and I have no contact with her for over a month.but everyday I pray for her,for God to guide her in his way..She has some misunderstanding about me..and blocking me is her process of expressing her anger..That's her way..I respect that and my way is through prayer..Thanks for your comments..I hope you can have a better understanding with your mom as well.Take care.

@tia2utoo I'm sorry this happened to you. I'm dealing with a similar situation with my family. My cousin who I've always loved and supported ghosted me a few years ago after her husband cheated on her. She was going through a divorce plus dealing with her MS treatment( I myself have an extremely rare disorder). She quit responding to me as often, so eventually I told her I knew what happened and if she wanted to talk about it we could. So she blocked me and now basically her dad and sister are siding with her. My aunt still talks to me, yet they never directly address what happened and why, pushing blame etc.

Hopefully your daughter talks to you again sooner than later. We have to figure out ways to deal with the pain and stress.

Hi, I see a lot of people blaming you for the situation. I understand so many people on here must have issues with their parents, but of course they shouldn't project themselves in your situation.

Anyways, I'm really sorry you are going through it. There are a few possible reasons behind her pugnacious approach with you. She might subconsciously hold you responsible for some of her problems. She might be just taking you for granted. She might consider you inferior to her standards (which sounds absolutely silly, but could be the case). and there could be n number of reasons.

The question isn't about how she will come back to her senses and realise no body is perfect and that her mother did the best she could. The question is how are you supposed to move on with life without being affected by it. We can talk about it more if you wish. Have a nice day! :)

@blatant honesty

Thank you for your comments and advice..My daughter has been like this since so many years..she thinks she knows everything and she feel I'm inferior and don't know anything..she will never admit her mistake and when we advice her..doesn't like it..she thinks she seen life mire than me and this is how it was..eventually she bloc3kd me but not her father because financially she needs his help..Frankly I'm struggling with the thought of accepting her the way she is..im praying a lot and asking for God's help..im sure God will help.me get through this.I don t have much choice..My husband thinks she will learn by herself .I have tried my best as a mother but she disrespects me and find me inferior..
