My husband asked for a divorce on my birthday
Me and my husband had been married for almost 4 years when he asked for a divorce on my birthday. There was no warnings or talks about even being un happy. I was completely gutted, and he seemed to be fine. He told me he had been thinking about it for two weeks. I tried everything to try and fix our marriage. He refused everything. I finally came to terms and said we should split for a couple months and see how we feel then. He was so against it, he wanted a divorce right away but since the state requires a separation before they will grant a divorce he agreed. I asked my family to help me move home, who live 8 hours away. As soon as my bags were packed, he changed his mind. Promising to work on our marriage. He did absolutely nothing. He went out all the time, did not communicate with me or even try to have conversations. So he decided to call it quits again. Breaking my heart all over again. What do you know. He takes back his divorce again and begs for me not to leave and that he’s sorry for everything. He said he realizes he was projecting his issues onto me and i was never the issue. Now he expects everything to go back to normal. He gets upset and says that i am mean now and i never have time for him. I’ve tried to explain that he literally ruined the trust we had and how i have changed since everything and it’s gonna be a while before everything is okay. Now that things have settled, I’m upset now. I don’t get how someone can give up so easily without even trying to fix things. I gave up everything for him. I moved away from my family so that we could live close to his, gave up jobs and friends i loved. We got into a fight again about how i am not as nice as i used to be and i never include him in things. It told him how much i felt betrayed that he would give up so easily, considering he chose to marry me and say the vows. Instead, he says that I’m blaming him and we both felt the same amount of hurt during that time. Which i guess brings me to this post. Is it wrong that i am bitter? He treated me like *** for months, when my heart was shattering and i had absolutely nobody considering i live 8 hours away from my family. Anybody else go through a similar situation? We literally get into it about how he handled the whole thing and how he betrayed me. He doesn’t see it like that, he doesn’t think he did really anything wrong. Am i crazy?
@Sadgurl2020
No you are NOT crazy he knew what day it was .........and what he was doing.......It sounds like a lot of passive aggressive behavior. He wanted to create drama and inflict as much pain as possible on your bday ......... what is the upside of working things out with a person like that.
There are a few things about your post though........ did you truly believe you were happy? or did you both just not share that someone was not happy?
Far too many people whom say we were happy ...............are not seeing the other person is not.
Part of his issues he is putting on you can be his unwilling to face he did nothing to help himself be happy or share his feelings with you instead of blaming you for not being a mind reader?
The back and forth is a reaction when the idea or threat of divorce starts to become real ...
the division of assets .....and other items. Some people throw DIVORCE around but when the other person is leaving and the life they had will change ........they panic and say no lets work on it etc.
I would be mad and bitter ... and never trust anything he said about it again ..the decision is yours now ... if you want to play back and forth or just cut your losses.....
