My wife's affair
I'm trying to heal from my wife's affair that i found out about a little over a year ago. We are still together trying to make things work but i still can't trust her, I still feel hurt and i still get triggered.

It's so unfair to you that you found something important next to your wife. She can hide everything in her personal life, but kids need to have both responsibilities from dad and mom. Understandably, you have a feeling like this.

Each couple's experience is different. I had a partner who had an affair many years ago.
Many couples can get over this, but the reality is there will be triggers. when things get hard, we may worry or watch for what if . We do not forget ever. It is a scar that is always there and sometimes when we see it the whole pain of situation is remembered.
In my experience we had to have real conversations about how it happened and what was our relationship going thru at the time. So many say things like "marriage was great and this just happened " these people are kidding themselves just because we did not see our partner did not feel things were great and we were NOT communicating how we really felt. It is NOT about blame but understanding.
I did not see it clearly until the situation reversed and I could see the line about to be crossed was not as clear cut as we think and how someone can make a bad choice.
Hi V,
I understand I am struggling with a similar episode with my husband having an affair months ago. I think understand those circumstances having a lack of trust maybe normal bc the shock, the hurt, and all the emotions not to mention being blindsided by it when there was never an inkling of thoughts of cheating. Try to distance yourself like take a walk or sit outside when you feel like your on the verge of a mood happening. For me my peaceful place is my walk in closet its quiet, peaceful almost serene I can pray, and think and cope better alone to process the anger. I get it though! I hope that helps.
@versatileBlackberry1173 I'm sorry you are going through this, my heart aches for you. 😓💙

Have you talked it out with someone... i mean let all your thoughts out about the whole relationship. even a journal because when we share or write it down when we hear ourselves or read our journal, we may see things we miss when we just think about it in the moment.
