Painful choices

Hi guys,

I grew up in a conservative Indian home and for the first time ever brought my boyfriend home. My family never liked him and I don't think ever will cause he does not come from a well off family. Makes me question stuff cause neither is ours. But my mother basically being extremely manipulative calls me every night to talk about why he is a bad match. I am tired and so is he. He loves me too much and refuses to give up on me and I for same. But on one hand stuff she says gets to my head, what if I end up being abandoned by my family? What if I end up being broke and empty? I honestly don't know. To my bf, he has given me the option to walk away and marry rich but he will not do the same. I am so scared and I don't know what to do.

@lovelybusydays

I understand many people have this same type of situation....relationships/ dating and even marriage should not be a job interview.... people who do not come from a wealthy background can and often do build their own ..... and those whom have wealthy parents sometimes waste it all away or are unable to maintain as they never thought they had to work or try on their own.   the future is NOT guaranteed by their current position.

 Many have faced this and outcomes varied.    You need to decide what you want in your life ... and no parent/ sibling or anyone else should make that choice for you.

@lovelybusydays,

it's not your mom's business. You should put down boundaries and make that clear to her. If she persists to call you just hang up.
