My partner and I have been together for over 10 years. He's never had a good grip on his mental health but we've managed. We have 3 children. I am in remission also. It's not easy. He's the bread winner.

Within the last 3 years He's become increasingly more volatile, ragey, mean, cruel, controlling, and honestly just ab☆sive. I'm financially controlled. 100%. I don't think he's ev!l or anything but I do believe something deep is happening. Idk what to do though. I'm very depressed. I'm so unhappy with him. I want this to work so badly but I want him to never be around because he's always so incredibly miserable. We have a nice life. He's the only bad part in it. But without him life isn't good either. But his mental health is draining us all. But he will not get help!

@UnhingedGinger

What do you think is bothering him?    depression or other items?   you say he is miserable have you found out why?

with 3 kids and a home being the main bread winner or the ONLY breadwinner is tough/ exhausting and filled with pressure.  ...

some people can  become resentful  and angry as they feel they are carrying the whole load.   Even though keeping a home and raising children is a tough job too, he might not see like that.

Have you discussed things with him ?   like plan on finances or maybe a job in your future?

it is a very difficult position to feel like you are controlled by the money situation.
