Possibly Paranoid in my relationship
I’m in a new relationship with a great guy, 3 months to be exact, but lately, something has been bothering me about him and well… about my sister as well. I think that they might be talking to each other or dating each other behind my back. I have no proof of anything. It’s just a gut feeling that I have that something is going on. My boyfriend likes women who are more plus size than I am and my sister fits this description. He says that he likes me, no matter what size I am but he also doesn’t want me to worry about loosing weight. Anyway, for awhile, she was working out but lately, she hasn’t been working out anymore. At first I thought it was because life was just happening but now, idk. My boyfriend used to stay up really late at night, every night, because he works in the afternoon and gets off late. Then, a few weeks ago, he started going to bed as soon as he got home from work, which means we don’t talk anymore at night, and now he gets up very early in the morning. He says that he feels more productive with getting up early. Idk what he does before he goes to work and I try to look at things from a positive perspective but idk. My sister is always up early in the morning because she has to be at work early. He’s also decided to stop drinking which is a good thing but when we first got together, he would drink. My sister also doesn’t drink that much because she has other obligations. They’ve only seen each other once, that I know of, and that’s when he first came over to my place. He said that they just said hi and kept it moving. He also said that he wouldn’t talk to his girlfriends family members like that because it would make things messy. While I’m glad that he told me this, I still feel like something is off, somewhere. Sometimes I feel like I’m reading too much into things about them, and then other times, I just feel like maybe there’s something there. I feel like I’m wrong but my gut tells me that something isn’t right. Idk what to think about anything right now. I haven’t told him or my sister how I feel when it comes to these thoughts. I’ve decided to just let things play out because I don’t want to accuse anyone of anything. I’m just hoping that I’m wrong about all of this.
@BlueRose100 I'm sorry to hear about this; thanks for reaching out about it! Things in romantic relationships can be so uncertain and confusing... is there something in particular you would like to do about this? How have you been coping?
@magicTree4461 Thank you for responding to my post. I took some time to pray and think about things and I decided to ask him if he had been spending any alone time with my sister or if he had ever talked to her, in addition to when they first met, and he said no. He asked where it was all coming from and I explained it to him. I still haven’t said anything to my sister about how I feel or how I felt about this situation. I love her but I don’t trust her and I hate that that’s how things are between us. We still get along but deep down it hurts to not be able to trust her. If you’re supposed to trust anyone it’s supposed to be your family but I guess that’s not always the case. I feel better about having talked things out with my boyfriend. It makes me feel more at peace with our relationship. I will have to pray that the trust will return in my relationship with my sister. I will have to leave everything in Gods hands. Thank you for allowing me to use this platform to express my feelings and concerns about the things that are on my mind and on my heart.
@BlueRose100
Sometimes we spend too much time listening to our gut and not enough to other parts of our body, which can only leave us with partial information.
Our gut is good for digesting and absorbing, eliminating and storing, but we also have hearts and lungs, liver and kidneys, spleens and skin and a pancreas and gallbladder and more.
An American healthcare system kind of focuses primarily on managing surface issues without getting down to what is really happening like they do in Chinese medicine, for example.
I don't know. Maybe listening to your whole body may be helpful, unless there is healing required for a certain internal system that's needing something first.
I'm not a professional though, and god knows even professionals can and do make deadly mistakes on the regular. So maybe explorations into your heart, history and health might help.
