So this has been going on for months. I had this boyfriend who, oh, we started great and all, but along the line, he started giving excuses. Anytime i complain, he says I'm the problem. If I tell him it's been long since you called me your babe or that you love me, he snaps and says he is not in the mood for this talk. So sometimes last month he texted and said oh he is not feeling this relationship again i said fine and i let go even though I was really hurt but I felt when you love someone enough and letting go is all you can do its fine. I've been out of town all this while, so two weeks ago i traveled back home and went to church immediately he saw me, and he was all over me saying, Your ex can be your present bla bla bla. So i accepted to get back together. A week after was my birthday and you wouldn't believe i had to call him that you didn't wish me that it hurts and he said he had other things to do

I was like are you for real? I know how far i go when it comes to your big day but mine you didn't wish me nor did you post me on your status nor did you get me anything which wasn't really anything for me. But he literally didn't make my day special and then i told him and said it hurts. im at work trying to smile and get my act together?

guess what he said you better do. I have made up my mind actually i unfollowed him on social media, deleted all our memories together but its hurts because he was online on my birthday, chatting in groups and catching fun.. I've ended things with him. I'm done complaining about his attitude or anything.Just that i find it so difficult to do anything once i close from work i just get back home and sleep without eating or doing anything.

       While I think many can relate to someone not making your b day special or not giving you the compliments or affirmations you want, speaking up is fine. Scolding a person will only make it less likely they will want to do this.    Relationships are different for some, they may not see it the same as you. They may not put as much value on status posts or public affirmation.

So he was online on your Bday but did not mention it in his status.   Who would a public posting  be for?       I mean I would rather have a personal thing then a status that seems to be a way to show friends or family "see what he wrote about me."   You say you make a big deal for his special day ... do you do that in a way you would want of he would?    I doubt he would care if you wrote some glowing my fabulous bf b-day post as again that is NOT for him but for others.

I understand you are hurt and upset and seems like a minor thing to break up about.  Maybe review what can change in your next relationship or if you ever got back together.  a relationship is a two way street and if this is not high on your person to do list for b-days ... let it go.

Yeah I get your point. But he didn't even wish me until I reminded him and he was like he had other important things to do first. What are the other important things? Posting about the church get together.

@Love349

Have you ever been distracted by things and a date comes up quickly?   s reminder or correction depending on person may do nothing. my spouse was scolded for lots as a child he tunes it OUT.

are you keeping score on this ?    you did b day things  for him =1 point ... he missed yours = 0 points   maybe he is not upset because when we keep score only we see the scoreboard in our head.

My spouse forgot mine many many times instead of "reminding" him all the time I waited and did nothing for him in return. then it becomes clear to him ....
