Relationship trauma

Both my husband and I are teachers. Recently, he was suspended from teaching because of an inappropriate relationship with a student, basically all the conversations they had online was on the school system. He says it was not romantic, but he made considerable efforts to conceal from me and the school what he was doing. There was also a time where he met with the student outside of school time.

We were both working overseas together and now I’m all alone. He is now banned from teaching and I couldn’t see a way to make our relationship work, so I asked him to leave so he had returned to his home town.

I’m struggling with my mental health after this trauma and figuring what to do next. The student involved has now left the school and will be going to university very close to his home town, so that plays on my mind a lot as well.

I’m not sure how to move forwards. I’m struggling to see how I can finish this school year alone. My apartment is a tip, I’ve not been motivated to cook and I’m struggling to manage my time at work.

That sounds like a significant upheaval in your life and it is very understandable that you may be operating in a daze.... not sure what is going on...

To finish out your year of teaching and get back to a routine or creating a new one is the path you can only do day by day... I am sure many emotions swirl about anger / embarrassment/ confusion/ dread for what else may pop up... take a deep breath do what you can and remember this is not a reflection on you but is a issue he has....
