Seeking opinions: how often do you text your SO?

How often do you and your significant other text? Did you have conflicts regarding frequency of communication, and what was the result? Assuming that you do not live together.

I now live with my partner, but before that, our texting behaviour was quite erratic. If something had interested us or something had happened/was happening/would happen, there would be a flurry of texts. But then there might be days without any. However, we tended to communicate more by email than text, and might be considered "old" in that respect.

me and my partner are long distance. We’ve had issues in the last few months about texting. I’m usually okay with messaging every 2-3 hours even four hours apart is fine and some days we don’t send more than a handful of messages. He thinks in an entirely different way tho and we’ve been having more arguments lately. A couple texts a day would be totally fine for him. 🤷🏻‍♀️

For me the basic answer is: everyday, as many times a day as we needed.

No messaging the whole day when we are not living together could meant either something bad happened (like an accident), or that we are starting to live separate ways.

Even when we lived together we could message each other every time we miss our beloved one, need advice or just need to talk to someone close, or just to ask "how is your day?".

I cannot tell anything about so-called long-distance relationships (seeing each other less than 1-2 days a week), because in my life I don't regard them as relationships at all...

The problem is I am more to writing text messages than calling, so if my girlfriend preferred to talk on the phone, I was sometimes forced to face my reluctance to phone calls, especially long ones.
