Hi guys, I'm here because I need advice. I've been with my partner (currently complicated) almost 2 years but I keep self sabotaging. Does anyone else do this or have you overcome it, if so any advice on how to work around it? So I'm not the mug I'm being at the moment

I self sabotage all the time, but I think the key is to think, “how are my actions going to affect my partner” I need to start doing that.

@peachApricot1306 self destruction, self sabotage, etc. often comes from a place of control. At the end of the day, it's a decision. It's no use beating yourself up over it, you're doing the best with what you got. However, you're making that decision alone, and we typically don't make the best decisions alone- especially when it regards the other party. Every time you chose to self-sabotage, you're taking power away from the people who love you and want to help. So, in short, generally the best way to stop those patterns is wait, and reach out to people who can listen. If those don't work, then give yourself some space and try to figure out what you *really* want to happen. Most of the time, the solution is a lot more simple.
