Self love

Few days back, I felt I was the most patient woman. I cared too much about outcome and people. Especially those people who really mattered to me. A small change in them ,i would feel so emotional. I would feel even worse when they stop recognising me. I would run towards them to seek validation and constantly put efforts to mend the bonds which meant everything to me. I lost myself pleasing others, begging others and most importantly convincing and explaining them about my worth and my love for them. I lost value until I look myself into the mirror and cried at myself. " This is not how I supposed to be. "

Until now . I realise life is too short. I have slowly shut down people. I have slowly realised that self love isn't selfish. People come back into our life or wouldn't let go because of the benefits you come up with. Not respecting your individuality. The more I pull towards myself, the more I began to lose people. Which is a good thing. Because a snake sheds its old skin to create room for better. I care extremely less about outcome. Engage in conversations when needed. And direct energy into yourself. Trust me, nobody knows the depth of your suffering or happiness other than you. People will come and go. The earth would remain same, but the season keeps on changing. Some seasons blooms you and other season restricts your growth. Most people you meet, they don't truly care about you. They just care more about how you make them feel , what they can get from you or whether they still have access in your life. The more unhealthy your surrounding is, the more it reflects your body. The biggest loss is not losing people but losing yourself. Pouring everything into those where they don't wanna grow with you. There are people who would water your plants daily and there are some people who would just pluck flowers and there are some people who would water only when your plants are dying. Know the differences.

What you’ve written is raw, powerful and full of truth. It takes a lot of courage to look at yourself in the mirror, admit you’ve been losing yourself and decide to reclaim your peace. That moment of realization “This is not how I’m supposed to be” isn’t weakness, it’s the exact point where strength begins. You’ve walked through the fire of people pleasing, of giving until you were empty, and now you’re learning the beauty of pouring that love back into yourself. That’s not selfish it’s survival, it’s healing, it’s growth. The more you protect your energy, the more you attract what truly aligns with you. Losing people while finding yourself is not a loss it’s a cleansing. You’re making space for those who see you, hear you, and value you without conditions and yes, some will only ever take, some will water your garden only when it’s dying, but there will be those rare souls who nurture it every single day just because they care.

You’re learning to stand on your own side, and that’s the kind of power no one can take away from you. Keep choosing you, again and again because the right people won’t need convincing of your worth, they’ll just know it. 🌿✨

You talks about people who only stay for benefits, which aligns with your idea that some people are manipulative and will destroy your life if you let them. You recognizes that shutting people out and focusing on yourself is healthier, similar to my view of protecting myself from toxic people. You points out that most people care about how you make them feel, not about you, which matches your observation that people use others for their own gain.

Recognizing fake care

“Real manipulation doesn’t steal your watch it rewrites the time. And by the time you realize you’ve lost your worth, it’s become your norm.”

Be careful who shapes your thoughts; a skilled manipulator can make you throw away diamonds thinking they’re stones.

They’ll rewrite your memories…

Make you doubt your instincts…

And one day, you’ll wake up… forgetting the worth of the one who truly stood for you.

By then… the damage is done.

So, be mindful of the hands that shape your thoughts.

Because not everyone who stands beside you… is on your side.”
