Should I end this relationship

So me and my sister grew up very close and for whatever reason as adults we had a small misunderstanding that resulted in her cursing me out and telling me to never call her again. Since then, even after apologizing for whatever it may have been that I did to upset her I’ve only gotten a yearly happy birthday text from her and it’s usually a day late. I’ve also married and had a daughter since then. My daughter is obviously her niece and she could care less about her existence it seems. For my baby shower and wedding I invited her to she declined via text and whenever I’ve tried texting her, because she never picks up my calls, she refers to my niece as the child and never acknowledges her as her niece or my daughter. atp I really feel like it’s a moot point to continue having a relationship with her. I do not want my daughter to go through any emotional trauma of being rejected or mistreated by her so I feel it’s better to just eradicate her from my life. Am I over reacting??

@chantillyrose36 you're doing the right thing: if your sister has no interest in mending the relationship with you even though you tried your best, forcing a relationship between and your daughter will get you to a dead end that will only be painful for everyone involved. You can't force people to be in someone's life if they don't want to, better to let it go altogether

You are not over reacting. That's real pain you are feeling. You don't want your daughter to go through the same thing you are going through. I am really proud of you that you recognised the needs of your daughter. I recently can't advise you anything because I don't know the whole picture like you experience. But listen to your heart and follow what your heart says. Take a deep breath and meditate. Ask your heart what it really wants. You are a wise mother. Hope you will find the solution. Congratulations for being the kind mom and best wishes for what ever the decision you take. Choose steps wisely so that those steps will have lesser influence on your daughter. Hope you have a great life . Wishing you best wishes.
