Texts
My partner and I have been together for 14 years. We raised our teenagers together and now we are empty nesters. A few weeks ago I accidentally saw a text from one of our semi-mutual friends (mostly his because they worked together for years). It said Wyd. I was really surprised and when I confronted him he said they are just friends etc. After I asked more questions he said that he could possibly be her daughter's father because they had an affair 20 years ago. Shocker! si, after a week or so of ruminating thoughts I asked again and he blew up. Just friends. On Saturday I looked. Another text. "I just left" .. as if she were checking in. But he was with me at home and didn't go anywhere. He's not a night person and mostly stays home all the time except for work. What do y'all think? Just friends? Let it go? Side investigation? Leave? Etc

So they had a previous relationship and possibly share a daughter. It is possible they are friends and he wants to be helpful or text her as a friend thinking he may be a child's father. Perhaps he should take a DNA test to determine it.
If there is no time away or unaccounted for I feel you being suspicious or pushing on it will only cause issues in your own relationship. I realize the revelation must have been a shocker and you may be questioning what you do not know but i think that should be a conversation when this settles down a bit.
