They Call Me Sweet?
Ever since I started chatting with girls online, this has plagued my thoughts and caused me to worry.
I had observed that when a Guy and a Girl got together they would start dating, and if one of them started seeing someone else, it would be considered cheating. At least that was the way was when I was in Middle School - High School. I never went to College so I don't know how things went there.
In real life I didn't have any deep friendships with girls. Then in 2002, I start trying to get into relationships, but I was pretty much confined to doing it online. Soon, through chatrooms and social networking sites, I found myself being almost forced to carrying on shallow friendships with many females. Sometimes I was being forced to hop from one female to another, because the Girl I was starting to feel close too, stopped responding or user her account. Or I would find myself trying to keep up with multiple girls at once. Something inside of me didn't feel right about this. I started wondering, has the internet changed me into some kind of a player? Now days I don't talk to very many females online. I currently have two on YT that I converse with. The one I met on YT a year ago. She has changed my name to Sweetie, but I think she often calls some of her other followers that as well. The other Girl also calls me sweet.
To be honest I enjoy being sweet, and being called sweet. But I always remind myself of the past, these things never last. I guess that helps me not to feel like I'm being a player. It isn't my fault, I'm just doing the best I can to talk to and get know Women in the hopes that maybe one day I will actually find someone to date and marry. Yet a part of knows instinctively that this will never happen. How come you might wonder. There is a series of things wrong with me, and the older I get the more there is wrong with me. People need people that they can rely on, and have fun with, and have something in common with. My struggles with my learning disability has caused me numerous problems. It has even made it hard for me to find solutions. I also have other health issues that have been gradually catching up with me. Which means I don't have as much to offer a relationship. Even here on the internet I am on the very bottom of things. Most of you need help of some kind, yet I don't have solutions for you. Yet I'm told that my forum posts is something that others can relate too. That helps me to feel like I might be doing some good by writing about my difficulties.
@tryingtosurvive2024 Hopefully I can get my thoughts down in one break- if not, I'll leave another comment later. You want to date and get married, but you fear that there are too many things wrong with you and you feel like you're only getting older and opportunities are leaving you behind. To me, it seems obvious to me that you're thoughtful and you've got good morals (not wanting to be a player and probably overthinking the 'sweet' comments). Do yourself a favor and try to shift away from meeting people online to real life if possible- it's the only way to get more fulfilling relationships, plantonic and romantic. Use Meetup, hangout with coworkers, talk to strangers in stores, join sports geoups and classes, go to events hosted by your library or community. Also, I know you want to date and settle down, but be open to the idea that you CAN hang out with girls and it doesn't need to be romantic. Talking to lots of girls doesn't make you a player- it's just normal socializing. Take some of that pressure of critizing yourself and having to find the one and try to relax into the idea that you want to build relationships first and pursue romance later. If you put yourself out there, the right one will come- but be open to making friends along the way too.
@determinedSea4370 What you wrote me is very interesting, and probably a good suggestion for other people. I know how bad off I am, so therefor I give up on ALL possibilities of ever doing any of that stuff, or ever getting married. People on the internet and even people in real life have got NO idea of how messed up and worthless I am!
@tryingtosurvive2024 You do know you best, but I'm not an advocate for black and white thinking because reality is all about shades of gray. If you don't think my suggestions are feasible, what do you think would be a more realistic step for you right now? Also, ask yourself this: why did you make this post in the first place? what were you hoping to accomplish? what did you want to recieve?
