Things working out
Hi all, I posted a couple of weeks ago and forgot the app was on my phone and all, I tend to play scenarios in my head about the worse time in my relationship even though it all worked out in the end. Any advice as to why I do that? Therapist said it may be a form of ptsd
@MangoLemon8033 Hi there! It's normal to replay past scenarios in your head, especially when it involves a difficult time in your relationship. It's possible that your therapist is right and you may be experiencing a form of PTSD. It's important to continue working with your therapist to develop coping strategies and techniques to manage those thoughts and feelings. Some strategies you could try include mindfulness, grounding techniques, or cognitive-behavioral therapy. Remember to be kind to yourself and take things one step at a time.
Maybe.
Maybe the worst time in your relationship triggered or touched upon some kind of fear that you have inside you (maybe abandonment, trust issues, self esteem issues, betrayal). Even though you may have worked things out with your partner for the time being, perhaps the fear is still inside you?
It might be helpful to explore those fears with your therapist to understand yourself better. Very often when we don’t resolve those underlying issues, they will affect our relationships sooner or later.
