I've been married for 20 years. My partner has never been one for going out of his way for me. I've let it go over theyears and been disappointed..for eg. My friends or coworkers would receive flowers on valentines.. I would get none. Special occasions aren't "special". Im tired of always giving and getting little in return. I've been sick on bed all weekend and am out of vitamins, cough drops etc. If I asked him to get me some, he would. But doesnt make the effort on his own

So I've been without while feeling crummy. The only time he's left the house all weekend is to go to his sports he plays. Now I'm left here alone, sick in bed. This is only a small part of the bigger picture. We've discussed this before but it seems like I'm always having to being it up over and over...does it not stick in his brain!? ☹️

@braveLion5101

You are not alone ....keep speaking up and ask for item he is not aware you need or just is oblivious to.

we want our partners to just do the little nice things on their own without us telling them or directing them.  It seems so easy to see we need medications or juice etc.   We want to not be disappointed again and again by coming home expecting flowers or something... and nothing.

Sadly I can say this is not easy corrected... I have tried for longer then I want to admit. it can get worse when they buy things we do not want need or like.... it feels cold and disrespectful that we always get them just what they need.     we can quit doing it for them but we won't so tell them what you need.
