Was I dealing with a narc?
So me and this perosn have been seeing each other for a few months I’d say, we both got out relationships sometimes last year and Met early this year. We hit it off with them Asking me out the first time we met, to quickly wanting a date, talking about their ex same day we met and then even wanting to spend Val’s day together which I turned down. I at some point came to realise I wasnt really into them because they seemed quite self absorbed.. although they seemed pretty caring, empathetic, passionate etc. they came on so strong! Doing everything like asking me out, planning dates, trying to show how respectful they are etc.
we had a huge arguement pertaining to money, and it was bad and we decided to stay friends. Now, I better exam season, very busy and prior to this we are still occasionally taking and calling, but I’m super tied up for a couple of weeks, so our frienily conversations aren’t exactly daily as before. After my exams end, I start reaching out to all my freinds to catch up and just cool off, and I reach out to them. She first ignored my message for a full day, sent very dry text that seemed cold, and then I called her and she sounded dismissive. My gut immediately told me she was speaking to someone else or has found someone else and she was acting cold. We did end up getting on the phone later, where the grand reveal was made that she was indeed dating someone else… cool. She the goes on to say the name of the person, and turns out the person is someone I know, and she expresses that she’s ”told the person about me” and I stupidly ask if she said anything “negative” and she looks uncomfortable. I immediately start thinking of how when we were still dating, she used to talk about her ex all the time and how much of an awful person she was, and I relapsed. She was most definitely going to be doing the same with this new girl, spill every personal thing I’ve ever told her. She already gossips a lot, has told me every negatuve detail about everyone she ever liked that rejected her and blah blah blah. So I guess it’s my turn now with this new person. She even said she saw that I’m mutual with so many people the new person follows on social media, and seemed upset that I did lol.
she used to show me her family house on FaceTime, show me her nice stuff, weightloss pictures, this new person is about to get sick of her in due time. She finds every chance to discuss how bad all her previous exes and crushes treated her and rejected her, so I know she will air out my life to this new girl. i also stupidly even mentioned that I want to know what her boundaries are now she’s seeing someone as we are friends, she ignored this, and said the new girl wasn’t bothered by me ( in this tone as I’m she’s more attractive than you so she’s not bothered). she said wanted to be friends and work on things gradually and If one person wants to be ore than friends in future and ask the other person out, we should be open, so she essentially is trying to keep me as an option now she’s found a new source.
im a fool, i know better now, but wow that discard was crazy, she will wait and wake up one day and be blocked. What a liar. Hope the new supply enjoys her mindless victimhood and “I’m such a good partner complex

Im really not a fan of labelling people. Because it tends to lead us to judge and make assumptions and this says more about us, than them.
I prefer to assume that everyone is doing the best they can, with the hand they were given. I don't intend to be mean, so why would I assume other people are intending to be mean?
It sounds to me like you had good reason for backing off from this relationship, due to other commitments. And that she has good reason for backing off from reestablishing that relationship, due to other commitments.
And that you have good reason for resentments. And she has good reason for resentments.
So why would we treat the two people involved here differently and assume that one is a narc and the other isn't?
As I said, I'd much rather try to treat both as people doing the best they can.
Sometimes it is just time to move on.
