Ways to move on and be okay?…
I broke up with a guy I’d been with almost 6 months.
we broke up 11 days ago. I find myself scared to sleep because I dream of him to much.
We’ve had a couple break ups and reminding but I refuse to be the one to chase and fix things again.
I accept he may never be in my life again.
I just need help with coping with this as this is the man I thought I’d be with forever. But he showed in the end I was nothing to him.
I just want to be okay again.
I want to sleep without the help of alcohol and drugs.
those are the only things that keep me from dreaming. If I do dream I don’t remember because I’m to fuked/gone to remember.
i don’t want to destroy myself anymore.
I just want to forget him….

It is natural i believe to think hey this is "the one" until we find out ... nope not the one.
the more importance in your mind you assign to this person the harder it will be to let go....
retrain your thoughts think of yourself as a book or a tv series .... this is a new chapter or a new season... sometimes the characters from the past no longer show up in the story.... be thankful you met this person and in some ways they may have taught you things about life but in the new chapter you will have new people new adventures. when you are ready for the next thing in your life it will come ... but hard to hold on to anything new if your hands and arms are full trying to hold on to and drag the past with you.
On the dreams you can remember do you see anything that repeats itself ? ... it has been assumed dreams are your sub conscience dealing with things you might not be in an awakened state. once you truly put down the past and are ready to move on the dreams will fade or be replaced by new things.
Hey, I’m sorry you feel this way and I know how you feel. My wife and I have been together 15 years and married 10. We have 3 young kids and life hasn’t been easy for us. Every bad hand that could be dealt to has been and we managed our way through. Well last year I lost my overtime at work and she wanted to get a full time job. She had been working part time which was fine but she wanted more. Fast forward to now and she had changed so much she’s been hanging out with coworkers more male and female. Going out drinking. Started smoking secretly and has been acting not like her normal self. Well she tells me 2 months ago she’s done and wants a divorce bc she hasn’t been happy for a few years now. Telling me in a nut shell it’s my fault. I’ve been in love with her since day one and my heart has been broken and I feel like a shell of myself and what ever happens afterwards I will be crushed. I thought we’d be together forever. Grow old retire and move south and enjoy our golden years. Now I feel I’ll be alone for the rest of my life and that has been driving me crazy. Especially bc I know she’ll move on and forget all the great memories we made and everything we accomplished together and throw away 15 years of our lives. So if you want to talk more about your feelings I will listen because I can understand how you feel. God bless.

It is not practical to forget someone you love. However, you can protect yourself from this cycle of hurt by reminding yourself - "But he showed in the end I was nothing to him." " I refuse to be the one to chase and fix things again. " "i don’t want to destroy myself anymore. "
It is a difficult time as you relearn how to feel good about yourself and life without him. Sometimes more than losing him, it hurts to lose all those dreams you had for the future which you had placed him in, the disappointment that he isn't the kind of man you hoped he would be.
