We both have mental health diagnosis
My partner is dealing with a recent trauma that developed into PTSD. It is affecting his memory and vocabulary. He is the breadwinner, as I haven't been able to work on the last few years.
Our connection has suffered badly the last few years. A lack of communication, a lack of intimacy, and general daily wear and tear emotionally contribute to this.
I'm struggling to find a way back to him.

I'm sorry you are struggling with this.
It seems youve both been through so much.
And all of this is bound to affect intimacy and desire.
You are just trying to get through the day and things slip.
It might help to just organise even a meal for you both.
Even just to have an honest chat.
Where you both feel heard.
And rebuild the intimacy slowly.
And the connection.
It must be so hard for him to suddenly nog be working and seeing himself from a different lense 💚

Had a guy who was also struggling with past addiction and depression, while i was with depression too
My relationship with him ended, no big fights, just sadness and pain
What i would do if i still could, is trying over and over to show you are ready to do what it takes to save this. Showing you care. His distancing and struggles made me distance too and be cautious about how i act. I wish i didn't do that, i wish i did little things to show i care, giving him space when he needed it, not acting offended, cause it makes him feel guilty, so he shuts down. Just show how you feel, even tho if you're struggling, you don't feel like you can. But imagine you've lost him. Just spend the day away from him, or go outside, and imagine the relationship ended. You don't have him anymore, you lost him. And think of things you were doing wrong and things you could do if you could.
And good thing is, you still can. So go back and do them, if you believe it's worth it
Good luck, hope you can work it out
