We got separated because I assumed he was cheating on me

I have been in a relationship for about a year and a half. The person I fell in love with had many female friends, and I expressed to him that it bothered me. This situation caused me to overthink and assume he was cheating on me. He always said he could unfollow all of them, but he never followed through and kept making excuses.

This pattern continued daily, and recently, he lied to me, claiming he had blocked a girl when he hadn't. I got angry, and we had a serious fight, which led me to tell him I wanted to break up. This was an emotionally charged decision I made on impulse. After our breakup, he didn't reach out, and I ended up deleting his contact.

Eventually, I wanted to reconcile, so I reached out to him, but I felt like he wasn’t interested in me anymore. It seemed easy for him to move on, even though I still love him. I asked him to block me, and he has since blocked me on all platforms.

Now I'm questioning whether my assumptions without proof were the issue or if he really cheated on me. What should I do now?

It's the worse thing you did. Atleast you should have a proof. Anyways....I hope you guys stay happy if things are positive

Yeah I know how bad it was, I mean what I did and now I'm regretting it so much. But I can't reach to him on anywhere and it hurts a lot. I feel so bad about myself. I don't know what to do now...

You can create an account and text him or call. [I'm assuming you are single]

@zayina Hmm this is a tricky situation and we have all felt insecure in relationships but you voiced your fears and you were not made to feel reassured and were lied too.

Whether or not he is cheating, trust is very important in relationships. This would concern me that my feelings are not being considered.

Perhaps just take some more time to reflect back on the relationship and decide what to do next. I hope it all works out for you whatever happens. :)

@zayina Hello, I only saw this now. Honestly, if you wouldn't mind me saying so, it does not seem to me like this person made a lot of effort based on what you said here to disprove or make you feel better or reassured that nothing was going on; yes, we all know words are just words but what about showing you some proof?  Yes, I can understand saying things in anger and maybe not thinking them trough and feeling like you did the wrong thing. I have been guilty of this myself. However, based on what you mention here, it seems like this was a progressively escalating sentiment that you had and doubt that was bothering you about this person or situation.  Whether it is something that you just imagined or conjured, I do not know, but I would be inclined to tell you not to discount yourself or doubt yourself so much.  There is a reason why you felt that way, there is always a reason why you react that way.  The reason I am telling you this is that something similar was happening to me with someone.  They were essentially emotionally cheating on me, if not worse. They definitely lied to me, and even if the lies according to him were not really lies, they were.

It turns out that just so you know how it ended, after he lied, gaslighted and told me it was me or made it sound like I was the one causing things, well, that wasn't exactly true, and for me it was the general disrespect. There were other issues going on in the relationship with lying, manipulation, control; I have come to the conclusion that this person has issues which I already knew are not mine to fix.

So, I hope this helps you in some way. Do not think your feelings or thoughts were invalid.  There is always a reason.

Yeah, he left me yesterday after I begged him not to go. The only thing he said was that he doesn’t feel the same way he did before about falling in love with me and I realized that explaining things over and over again wasn’t helpful, so I respected his decision. I don’t hate him or feel any resentment. I truly believe that someday I will receive what I have given.

@zayina sorry that happened to you and sure maybe you're not happy about it, however, if you are still young, he did not leave major scars on you or worse a disease of some kind, consider yourself lucky if I may say so, or especially if he is not one to obsess and bother you again once it's over. Hopefully that won't happen. I don't know why I got involved with people like that who had some sort of addiction or out of control behavior.

It's probably for the best. You will meet someone else when you're ready.
