What did I do wrong?
I’ve been with my bf for almost a year now. We ve had some issues… my main problem is that I feel like I’m not getting the same energy I’m giving him back. We’ve gotten better or so i thought until recently. I work two jobs and I’ve really been suffering with insomnia and depression periods. Works been getting to me I’m so tired and I feel like I don’t take time for myself anymore and he’s been making me feel so guilty about it because I’ve been crashing whenever we hang. Last weekend I thought we were ok. I was closing at my part time. It was dead for a minute but picked up and he claims I ghosted him because i didn’t update him on what time I’ll be over. He’s just being so selfish I’ve literally broken down multiple times in front of him because I’m so drained and the response I get is crazy. Over the last few months i recommend we take some time away from each other because we’re always together (we don’t live together) and he gets offended and immediately goes to “oh let’s break up then”. No I just need time. He ended up blowing up my phone when it got busy and I wasn’t able to answer. When i finally did he immediately came off as condescending, and I crashed out. He said he was gonna turn off his phone and go to bed and that set me off I said “you don’t gotta see me this weekend then” and he thought I was threatening to break up. Now it’s been a couple days and he’s full on ignoring me. Which I think is insanely ironic because he claims I ghosted him when I didn’t. I’m so mentally drained. It feels like I’m drowning and he doesn’t care.

I'm sorry that you're experiencing this. It seems like your partner might be a little emotionally immature and telling him how to behave decently all the time is going to be exhausting. You deserve a partner that is supportive of you, that doesn't bring you stress, isn't hypocritical, isn't absorbing all your energy and giving nothing back. I think this is a good time to really consider whether this is a healthy relationship that can continue. At the moment, it sounds like it's taking more than it's giving. It might not be easy to imagine, but there are better men out there who will treat you the way you want and deserve to be treated. Right now, it seems he's not willing, nor does he care, to meet your relationship needs. His behaviour comes across as controlling, needy and immature.
