What do I do?

Ik this isn’t really about a relationship currently but I really want this to work. This guy added me on *** a little before the last day of school, and we texted a little and then he said “u looked cute today” so automatically I kinda thought hey MAYBE this guy might like u. So we’re sending reels NOT TEXTING. And he sends me a reel and it’s like “is this a bro thing or are we something” and yk as time moves on iv just been trying to talk to him, he’s dry, he responds always right away never on delivered but it just kinda seems like he’s just responding not actually texting back. He does leave me on seen sometimes and he is kinda mean, unless im just sensitive, like today we were playing iMessage games and he sent chess and I asked how to play it and he said “im not ur teacher” and I was like oh? And I posted this new *** and I said as a joke like and repost it and he said “nah” like oh okay. And so I asked my friend who is besties with him if he liked me and he said yes he does, my friend told me not to tell him that I know so I didn’t but it just feels like he doesn’t. But why would he be texting me if he didn’t? I don’t know. I do like him, I’m honestly just yearning for someone to love, to be myself with, I don’t know. What do u guys think?
