Wife wants a break
So my wife wants to separate/take a break. I haven't been the greatest husband. Everytime I try talk or text I get no answer or response back from her. Besides her telling me she was frustrated at me for trying to talk to her. She doesn't want anything to do with me for awhile. We are still living together due to the kids. She said there still a chance of us being together but I feel like it a lost cause.

While i agree you need to give her space ....
it is important for you to figure out or recognize or accept the why. she may not want to argue or even discuss anymore as she feels you should know by now ... how she feels.... I asked for a break hoping my spouse would wake up to the issues that we have are serious ... not something that will go away.....
maybe on your own try to think about what has changed / are you happy? what did it look like when you both were happy? This has to be a deep look without "BUT " statements we use to do ( insert something) BUT i am tired or want to do other things or it takes longer and we do not make time to fit in anymore.
My guess is she shared why she would like to have a break even if you did not listen as closely .... is she lonely /bored wanting more out of life.... travel /trying new things ........ then you are currently doing? What does she see her life vs what you see for future?
I find so many spouse will say "i do not know why" and then want to ask a million questions ... and the other spouse gets angry because they have told you several ways how unhappy or whatever they were and some spouses did the head nod and dismissed it. THINK hard and remember any things she may have mentioned. do not assume or do what YOU think she wants slowly ask for a discussion and listen.
This does not wait if she finds fun / friendship or even romance while on a break she is not coming back to a dead relationship.
@agreeableSummer5795,
give her space while being there for her. Do little things. Shopping. Clean the house. Cook. Take the kids out so she has alone time. Buy her flowers.
You said you've not been a good husband. Are you aware of areas you could improve upon?
I don't know how this has been going on but sometimes people change. The relationship changes and we stop communicating. One person pulls back, while the other starts pushing. Which creates only more distance. Sometimes it helps to start relationship therapy. Not to save the relationship but to try to learn to truly communicate again. To understand each other.
