Words that hurt
My spouse and I just got into an argument, again. It seems like that’s all we do lately. In the midst of our argument, my spouse asked me if I’m the reason my ex-spouse cheated. That really hurt!
You have every right to feel hurt , when someone cheats its on them not on you.
You need to be clear with your partner and set boundries

If your having continuing arguments and not reaching an end .. when people are frustrated or upset some can seem to find the most hurtful thing they can think of in the moment. i have been in this situation. No one IMO teaches us to have productive arguments ... arguments do happen why not be prepared.
When we are the person who felt hurt by a statement throw at us in a argument we may dwell on it and read more into it and put too much thought into why they said it or what did that mean. This is exactly the intention of saying some thing like that, IMO.
