hi, -18 girl

i feel horrible. my girlfriend and i have been dating for 9 months now. we were finally able to sleepover together last night and we ended up making out. i just feel so disgusting. it wasn’t like it was a bad kiss or anything, but i almost felt like i was pretending, or maybe i wasn’t pretending and i feel guilty about that too. i don’t know. i love her so much. she is so funny and beautiful and kind and genuine. i feel like such a disgrace. i feel like she deserves someone who can appreciate that part of her more than me. i should probably just talk to her about it but i don't know what i would want to say. i dont understand why i feel like that though. it’s supposed to be normal for people my age to do that stuff and everyone that talks about it acts like its amazing but i dont get it. the thought is so appealing but in actuality it makes me feel so gross.. just me?

It's ok to not feel normal with making out and other physical contact (If that's not what this post is about I'm sorry, I miss points a lot). It's ok to ask her to stop, or to tell her you're not comfortable with it, it doesn't make you wrong or flawed. I hope this helps.

You’re not disgusting i promise. You can love someone deeply and still feel uncomfortable with physical intimacy and it's always okay to let her know how you feel, everyone experiences these type of things differently, and you don't have to force yourself to enjoy something just because other people do. You haven't done anything wrong and it's always okay to take your time to figure out your feelings.

Hey! First of all, you're not alone in this. Loads of people feel the same and just never say it out loud 💛

Feeling weird after a kiss doesn't make you a bad person or a bad girlfriend. You love her, and you're worrying about her feelings. That's a good heart. Sometimes the idea of something feels exciting, but the real thing feels different. Maybe nerves, maybe not being ready, maybe pressure from everyone saying it's "supposed" to be amazing. Whatever it is, it's okay, and you don't need to figure it all out today.

When you talk to her, keep it simple and honest, like: "I love being with you. Last night I had some confusing feelings, and I'm still figuring them out. I just didn't want to hide it from you."

Go at your own pace. No rush, no pressure, and nothing is wrong with you. Be kind to yourself, okay? 🤗
