Hi, my name is Liz I’m 37 and married with two biological children and two soon to be adopted children. They are all girls 3,6, and two 16 year olds. I’m a stay at home mom and my husband runs a very demanding ATV rental business that is causing lots of stress right now. Recently he was stressed out and wrote an email to my parents and sister about the ATVs we currently rent out for them and it upset them because sometimes when he expresses his feelings he is kind harsh. Now I have the people I love most all mad at each other. It’s hurting me so much. I also don’t want my family to think bad of my husband. It’s a difficult time in our lives right now and though he might shouldn’t have said all he did in the email he does have a good heart and was under a lot of stress. Any advice or comfort on this topic would greatly help, I feel stuck in the middle and like my family would want me to be super mad at him which I let him know how I felt but i can’t just be mad all the time. It would make me

depressed. Thanks in advance for any kind words about that.

There are times when we can find ourselves in the middle and it is not a good place to be. If you read the letter/ email  ask yourself was anything he said wrong? of course we all can edit and re read and even perhaps wait to hit send to see with clear eyes but it was sent...

It is not your job to solve... there is an issue and hopefully someone can be adult about it and reach an agreement ... it is very depressing and we tend to overthink when we are placed in middle of any conflict but i have found the hard way to not try to smooth things over with everyone and be the peacemaker as you will find yourself being pulled from all angles.   playing both sides is a recipe for disaster I tried that.... instead i now ask both parties to sit down and sort it out with clear heads and solutions in mind.

Hi thanks so much for your feedback. It’s nice to just hear someone else’s view of it. I am keeping a neutral mindset. I refuse to pick between my family and my husband, to me they are all one. We had a talk with my parents and although the talk was rough it ended relatively well. My sister however is not willing to be an adult and come to a resolution or peace. She no longer wants anything fo do with my husband which puts me in a diffxult place. I am not happy I don’t understand why she can’t just say okay when I see him I’ll say hey be civil and move on but no she said he better never speak to her and is being high controversial. Makes me want to skip all family functions :(

Sounds like a maturity issue with sister and frankly it is her issue not yours .... i am sure she would like you NOT to attend things as it gives her false sense she in right in how she is acting. IMO
