5-year Relationship down the drain?
I don't know guys. Its such a long story. I just downloaded this app so I'm not sure how much help I'll get or who will be willing to listen. Me and my boyfriend have a 2 year old daughter together and were together 3 years before she was born. I'm only 21, I've been dating him since I was 16, just recently in February he cheated on me with one of my close friends (who was dating one of his close friends for 5 years, they also had kids together) it just resulted a huge change in my mental health. Some good and some bad. We were broken up for 3 months and there's a lot to say, but I decided to work on our relationship with him. He is the type of person to mess up and never do it again, but I'm just detached at this point. I love this man with my whole heart. We've been back together now for 3 months. He just recently started becoming distant and not wanting to touch me, hold my hand, tell me he loves me or I'm beautiful, etc. I don't tell him who to talk to, check his phone, or any of that. because with my new mindset, I just don't see the point in stopping anyone from doing what they please. We went floating down the river today just me and him and some friends and he was nowhere near me the whole time. And hated that he had to ride with me there and back (he said he was annoyed at the song selections) He's not a very affectionate person in the first place, but I just feel unwanted. Unloved. Unappreciated. When we got back from the river, he changed and said he was going to his brothers to work on the truck, which he did because I double checked with his brother. I cannot bring myself to dump him. I will feel like it's my fault and I put myself in the broken position I will be in once again. I just texted him this big long text saying basically "I'll do whatever you want, just please show me you love me. In any way. Im begging you." He has read the message and has not replied. And I just know when he gets home it'll be an argument I'll have to withstand. Because he hates talking about his feelings and showing love and sensitivity. And it kills me. I do the dishes, laundry, work, take care of the baby, etc. he works too but he feels if something isn't done it's my fault and he doesn't yell but he gets annoyed. I feel like it's in my blood to please the person I love, but he doesn't feel that way about me. When we got back together he was so insistent that he would show me he loved me more often and be better for me and our daughter. But it's just fading out. And i feel lost. I've just been avoiding talking about how he's not showing me affection to avoid an argument and being accused of whining about everything. I just love him so much. I feel like I'm waiting for him to leave me or for him to cheat again. It's just so hard for me to think about. While we were broken up, me and my brother and my baby got our own place. I was fine on my own after a few months. But then he came back really trying to get me back so I waited a couple months and let him move in. Thinking that the worst case scenario he would move back out and back into his moms house and we'd figure it out from there. I cannot bring myself to leave him. I just don't know what to do. I wish he would just talk to me. If you made it this far in my post, thank you. It means so much...
@goodFriend1464 im very sorry for your stress. I don't have kids or insight into issues like this. But all I would say is create the best environment for your kids. If he doesn't want to be apart of that then it will be his grand loss at the end of the day
