Advice please!

Hi everyone i need some advice so I am going out of town to visit family 3 hours away and invited my boyfriend to come with me. The original plan was to go Saturday and come back Sunday but now my family members asked to do a late dinner on Sunday and my boyfriend has work on Monday but I do not. I really want to be able to spend this time with my family so i asked him if he could possibly take off of work so we didnt have to rush back and drive late at night and so i wouldnt miss this time with my family. But now it has turned into an argument and he is saying that i am not considering him and why should he have to take off work and i  dont know what to do

Perhaps you can go alone and spend time with your family .... Maybe it is a man thing  as my partner seems put out to ask him to take a day off... but would expect it if the situation was in reverse... did you ask him first or just suggest he could take the day?   it could be his being upset was about how it was brought up not the actual suggestion. 

you are correct to want to drive back on Monday as opposed to late Sunday as he will be exhausted 

does he have time off available or will this be short pay?
