So yeah, that pretty much says it all if you're aware of attachment styles. But does anyone have any advice from experience? Like, objectively balanced info, not just, scornful remarks about how cold and evil avoidant people are.

@BestialBowelCough

Dating is hard enough without anxiety and avoidance.

Hey! I am no professional by any means but I am myself an avoiding anxious guy.

I'll be completely honest with you, dating is hard when you're just terrified of the intimacy you need so much. Unfortunately, It's not possible to force yourself to trust another person on a whim, it takes time, a lot of it actually. Personally, only after two years of relationship I started to feel comfortable to kiss and hold hands and stuff alike. Yes, it took THAT long, I know. I think the only thing I could recommend is to find someone patient enough to help you work through this, since it's just impossible to learn attachment alone. It's scary, it hurts, but feeling comfortable next to another human being is the best thing in the world. And yes, I said learn, because I'm convinced that it is a skill just as empathy and sympathy are.
