Hi, My boyfriend of 6 years recently stopped letting me see or use his phone. When I confronted him about it and said he must be hiding something, he told me about these women who started messaging him because they got his contact info via the porn site he uses. They send him nude pictures and he chats with them during the day while I’m at work (he works from home). I don’t feel like he would actually physically cheat on me with anyone but I’m not sure what to think of this. Is this cheating? What should I do?

Hi @helloBalsam5873 I understand completely and he shouldn't be flirting with other females and they should not be sending him nudes. You should confront him and have a talk with him about it. He if he doesn't stop flirting with other ladies then you need to tell him your leaving him and telling him goodbye. He shouldn't be looking at porn sites he shouldn't be looking at other females period. He has you and he needs to stop talking to them as well. My boyfriend was on a dating site and the girl inboxed me and asked me if I knew a John Weeks and I told her yeah that's my boyfriend why whats up. He said that I'm his crazy ex girlfriend and I said oh really now ok so here is the thing I told him to tell the girl the truth and to either stop cheating on me or be gone I do not have time for it.

Good thoughts okay thank you. I have been having some pretty depressive episodes lately and he says that’s what drove him to it. He is pretty supportive and caring usually but he’s obviously hiding things from me. To be honest, he is schizophrenic and on a medication which he says increases his sex drive and when he needs it, he needs it. Could that lead to problems? He says he never slept with anyone so it shouldn’t matter?

He should not be replying at all to them. Why is he even chatting with them, what is his purpose from it? He is probably saying things to them that he don't want you to see that is why he won't let you see or use his phone anymore. Ask him if he would be okay if you're talking to other guys like he is. He wouldn't like it if he still loves you. Talk with him on how it makes you feel. If he doesn't stop, it's better to leave.

My bf messaged some girls on tinder and when I found out I told him that he shouldn't be doing it and if he would like it if I messaged other guys that they're handsome or whatever and he said no. So he deleted his Tinder. But it became such a big deal with me seeing all these stuff that I told him I wasn't going to get into his business anymore. I shouldn't have to be the one to tell him to stop when he know what he want from our relationship and have made it clear to me but he goes behind my back and does it anyways. Haven't checked any of his stuff since.

If he’s doing that now then he’ll cheat later, unless he gets help for what is the beginning of a porn addiction. Even thinking that your depressive episodes have driven him to do that is setting yourself up for worse later and then blaming yourself. Being on a medication that makes him need it when he needs it might be a fact .... but he can have it when he needs it all by himself with NO other women involved if that the case. Involving other women even if just virtually is a slippery slope AND a CHOICE. And having HIM do that will worsen your depressive episodes for sure so it’s a catch 22 situation. Cheating doesn’t just happen, that’s a choice too...he’s setting up and paving the way for that choice even though even he can’t see that now, by developing a porn addiction, giving excuses for his choices and having you start to doubt and blame yourself just a little. Having come out the other end of a relationship that went down the same path (and schizophrenia meds involved too) then it’s easy for me to say LEAVE.... but if someone had said that to me at the time of where you’re at now I would’ve have done it....so I won’t say that. But one thing I COULD have done is take some time for myself and be kind to myself so I could stay strong and happier instead of living in fear of what he was doing and where it will go next etc. And I would have looked after myself and not blamed myself for not being enough or for being depressed sometimes.
