BreakUp with Toddler

My boyfriend cheated on me for 4 years our entire relationship. I fear of being alone & being rejected. All I want is to be excepted by him even though it’ll never happen and he’ll continuously cheat. I don’t hate him. We are now 5 days in separation. It’s harder for me to deal with I feel because I was all in. I have shortness of breath , can’t sleep , can’t eat , cry here and there , feel numb , and I’m searching for answers. We also share a toddler. He lives with him me. I choose not to let him have sleep overs or I don’t want him separated from me. I do let him see him at my home. I have mixed feeling about my decisions & I just don’t know if I’m making all the right ones. I let him sleep here tonight so that way he can sleep with the baby due to his emotions changing.

I'm really sorry that your boyfriend decided to cheat on you and mess up the relationship in that way. From what you've said, you don't hate him so much as you just want to have his acceptance and feel lonely/rejected, and it's been hard to deal with everything that's been happening. 💜

If I'm understanding, you're also taking care of a toddler at your home, and you're unsure whether you're doing the right thing with that (i.e. whether to allow your boyfriend to sleep over in order to be with the toddler).

I'm not sure if there's any one correct answer as far as what to do in this situation. It probably comes down to whatever you and your boyfriend agree upon that feels like it respects each of your needs (and the needs of your child) as much as possible. HERE is a resource I was able to find that has some tips for how to care for a toddler during a divorce/separation.
