Confused and Tired

My boyfriend and I have been together for over 8 years, starting dating at 16 & 18 years old. We were soo toxic when we were teens but we knew we loved each other and wanted to be in a healthy mature relationship so we put all the bs behind us. This past year he started the police academy to begin his new career path, and i am so happy for that. But I feel like since he started this, his attitude towards me is completely different. We don’t really have a sex life anymore, he comes home and gets straight on video games without talking to me at all. Always on his phone. It’s almost like he is slowly shutting me out for his new life.. Any advice or words of wisdom on how to talk to him without getting him upset with me? Or am I overreacting?

I don't think u r overreacting at all Follow your intuitions as sometimes those intuitions led to understanding about red flags in a relationship and most importantly confront him about that .

When beginning a new career path, it’s very common that people tend to drift apart from their normal behavior. But conversation is the best way to solve problems and misunderstandings. I would suggest before he gets into his video games to have a conversation. Be calm and considerate. Overreacting never leads to good things. So just have a mature conversation with him and see how it goes.

@dapperWheel631 You are not overreacting. It is very normal to want a confirmation that you are loved. Sometimes, people change their behaviour and some things are left unsaid. He may not realise how this is affecting you. Let him know that you love him and that you feel this way about his recent behaviour.

Things don't change over a night, it takes time to build trust. (You probably already know that) I'd suggest engaging in a small activity together everyday, like an evening walk or a morning hug. A little bit of happiness everyday :)

Peace!
