Last lockdown I met a woman who I got on with quite well and long story short we slept together and at the time thought it was a good idea to film it. Not long after that we decided just to be friends and we got on really well as friends for months. I met a new woman and was seeing her for 7 months and we were really close and intimate. She knew I was friends with the other woman. One day we went out for food and drinks and I got drunk. Later that evening she went through my phone and found the videos that I totally forgot about and thought I had been cheating. I explained that I hadn’t. What made things worse was she rang the other woman through Facebook and she told my ex that she had been sleeping with me which wasn’t true. When I confronted her she told me my ex had told her I said really nasty things about her so she was upset and angry and said it out it retaliation to piss her off. She then told me she was madly in love with me and would do anything to be with me. My ex thought I had been friends with benefits with the other woman the whole time so my ex blocked me on everything and my friend is still in love with me. I got myself in to a stupid situation but I never cheated on her. Am I right in thinking it’s best just to give up and walk away

There are a lot of lessons to be learned in this situation. How many can you find?

When you only look for bad or negative, sometimes that is all you see. Your ex found that out the hard way. Not only were you NOT cheating on her, but she also went and blew up her relationship with you based on her self-justified need to search your phone because she had trust issues. Sadly, I doubt she will learn anything from what happened because she'll likely go on forever and insist she was in the right to do what she did - but, she wasn't. She has no business going through your phone.

The relationship is fractured, with your ex, the odds of getting back together with her and maintaining a healthy relationship are going to be a harsh and uphill battle, nearly impossible.

You're now going to have to figure out what you're going to do with your friend because she used lies to ensure that your paranoid and insecure (trust issues) girlfriend breaks up with you. She's a woman, knew exactly what to say, especially since your ex left herself completely open to the conspiracy theory that you were cheating when you weren't.

Therefore, you may want to take inventory of the women in your life and make better choices.
