Feeling guilty when I want to be alone

Hi,

I hope I am not the only one with this problem..

My boyfriend wants to spend every day with me. We love each other. But i need to have "me time" and spend time alone. We don't live together but he comes here often and sleeps here .

I told him i need more space and i need to be alone sometimes. He didn't understand and i feel guilty because he doesn't like the fact that sometimes i refuse to see him.

He says that he is in love and it should be normal to see the person you love every day. It's strange for him that i for example want to do my stuff , studying, cleaning etc. ALONE..

I feel so guilty because he is a great guy and many women would like to have men who want to spend time together.

I am grateful for his desire to be with me. But also i feel a bit pushed and guilty when he feels bad because we didn't see each other because of me.

In general, i tend to agree with people to please them, otherwise i feel guilty that i caused pain to someone else.

Is there anybody who can relate to that?

I feel like a bad person right now and that's why I want to understand if this is normal..

Thanks for reading this!

@discreetSpring5627,

it's normal.you want to have "me time". It doesn't mean you love him less, it means you love yourself. You have nothing to feel guilty about.
